The most successful Business Studies students take a keen interest in current affairs and topical events and have an awareness of the local, national and global business and political environment. We encourage students to regularly read the news and will add news stories that are relevant to the Business Studies course on this section of the website.
In addition to taking an interest in the news, there is a wealth of television programmes available for you to watch, improving your understanding and application of Business Studies theory in the real world. These include:
- Panorama (BBC One)
- Dispatches (Channel 4)
- The Apprentice (BBC One)
- Dragons Den (BBC Two)
- Undercover Boss (Channel 4)

Wednesday 29 March 2017 – Year 12 students visit Nottingham Trent University
As part of their Level 3 Diploma Business Studies course, four students organised a day trip for the whole of Year 12 to visit Nottingham Trent University. The students gained invaluable firsthand experience of what it is like to plan and run an event, including the stress and managing potential problems that could arise! The trip was a great success and all four students were a credit to our course. Well done and congratulations to Brooklynne Dehaney, Emily Hill, Joe McKue and Jack Smith. To read more, click here.
On Friday 17 March 2017, Year 12 Diploma Business Studies students organised a workshop run by Shaima Saif (LincHigher) to encourage all Year 12 students to find out more about the different university courses on offer to them and to familiarise themselves with the UCAS website.
