Giles Adventure curriculum develops in Year 10 with a range of further activities which can count towards the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
There are four sections to complete for the award and we generally find that most students are already participating in many activities which count towards it, requiring little extra effort other than to record their achievements. There are also activities here in school which students already participate in which can also qualify them for the award.
This programme provides your child with a fantastic opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, from which they will gain a range of experiences, in addition to developing personal characteristics which will benefit them in the future when they are applying for college, university or employment. It has been recognised that young people who have completed their D of E are at a distinct advantage over their peers who have not participated.
