Year 8 boys win Giles the trophy in SLAT Football Tournament
With there being four schools in South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, this provides us with the perfect opportunity for all four of the schools to compete in our very own SLAT sports tournaments.
This is the second year we have run the tournament, which takes place at Spalding Academy as this is a central location for all schools in the Trust to visit.
Congratulations to our Year 8 football team who were crowned champions of their tournament after being unbeaten in all three of their games.
The tournament was a round-robin format with all four schools playing each other once. We beat Spalding Academy 2-1, won 1-0 against Cowley Academy 1-0 and then came from two goals behind to draw 2-2 against Bourne Academy. This game against Bourne Academy showed the resilience and determination that the team had.
Mr Dodd, Teacher of PE said “I would like to commend the team on their success in the SLAT tournament as winning this was a fantastic achievement and a testament to the students hard work and brilliant attitude. The team showed a terrific competitive spirit and are a real credit to the school.”
