Message from Head of Sixth Form
Sixth Form students studying at Giles Academy enjoy a wide and varied curriculum delivered by staff with many years of experience in Post 16 education. We are a large village school with a successful Sixth Form. We have a long history of many of our students going onto study undergraduate courses at university following their time at Giles. We have approximately 140 students, so a relatively small but effective Sixth Form. This allows for smaller class sizes so that means much more 1:1 time with the teachers.
We believe our Sixth Form is inclusive; we offer A- levels and BTECs/ OCR courses to suit all levels.
We pride ourselves on delivering a curriculum that suits the needs of our students and helps them to achieve their post 18 dream. We offer a range of courses with good facilities that constantly change and evolve to meet the needs of our students. In addition to this we now offer a 4 day week for the students, with a self -study project on the 5th day.
Our support and guidance if offered by a dedicated Sixth Form who ensures that our students are well prepared for exam and coursework. We have a dedicated careers advisor who is able to offer help and support for post 18 careers or direction.
At Giles Academy we want our students to achieve their full potential. We have an excellent team including teachers, support staff and a pastoral team to enable this to happen.
