Record numbers of visitors attend our annual Open Evening

After the overwhelming success of Open Evening last year, the Open Evening this term proved to be even more popular with an incredible 1,000+ visitors attending coming from all of the surrounding towns and villages including Boston and Skegness.

Across the four schools in our Trust we had well over 5,000 visitors attending with every school having a record number of visitors. We would like to thank every parent/carer and student who attended for making these events such a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere.

It was so rewarding for the staff and students in the whole school to see how enthusiastic the students in Years 4 to 6 and their parents/carers were as they viewed all of the different subject areas, led by our team of dedicated student tour guides.

With a capacity audience in the school hall and so many people eager to visit on the evening, our main presentations with Mrs Conley, Chief Executive Officer and Miss Belcher, Head of School started earlier than scheduled and we run many subsequent presentations. These talks provided parents/carers with a real insight into the school and the feedback afterwards shows how much they appreciate being able to hear from the Trust leadership.

We would like to thank every one of the Giles Academy students who were amazing on the evening as they were so enthusiastic and passionate about wanting to represent the subject areas and show families around the school.

Jasmina Kukla (Year 7) and George Skipworth (Year 8) did a fantastic job speaking so confidently in the main hall during the presentation. Bella Mustill (Year 7) wowed the audience as she performed songs from the musicals Les Miserable and Waitress before and after the presentations.

The Open Evenings provide the perfect opportunity for parents/carers to really find out about the school as there is no substitute to seeing it in person. On the evening we received so many positive comments from parents/carers who attended and it was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces.
