Rounders teams have been in ‘full swing’ this term

In the summer months, one of the popular seasonal sports at Giles Academy is Rounders. Our PE Department has been very busy recently as there have been three District Rounders Tournaments for our students to complete in.

• Our Year 7 team played incredibly well securing joint second position in their tournament.
• Our Year 9 team competed against all the local schools and with 3 wins out of 4 they were runners-up in the tournament.
• Our Year 10 played in their first tournament at Boston High School and they secured an excellent joint second position.

Mrs Cooper, Teacher of PE said “Congratulations to all players involved as each squads batting, fielding, teamwork, tactics and competitive spirit all improved to step up to a competitive level and everyone enjoyed success on the night. We have been extremely proud to take such positive and enthusiastic students to these competitions.”
