Year 8 netball team win SLAT Games with impressive goal difference

After the recent success of the Year 9 Girls Netball Team winning the SLAT Sports Games, it was the turn of the Year 8 Girls Netball Team to compete against the other schools in the Trust and we were proud to host the tournament at our school.

This is a friendly tournament where each year group can then earn points that go towards an overall league table featuring the results from all years.

Congratulations to the Year 8 team as they were the tournament winners.

It was an incredibly close tournament as it was a three-way tie between Giles Academy, Bourne Academy and Spalding Academy who all won two out of their three games. It then came down to goal difference and our high scoring 10-0 win in the final game against Cowley Academy clinched the title.

Mrs Cooper, Teacher of PE said “Our whole team were incredible in the tournament. The standard of netball they play is very impressive and we were thrilled to see them be the champions of this event.”
