Girls basketball team are District Champions for a second year running
For the second year running, Giles Academy have been crowned the U14 Girls South Lincolnshire Basketball champions. This is a fantastic achievement to retain the title for two years in a row.
The basketball tournament was held at Haven High Academy in Boston, and we beat every team in tournament by scoring 56 points and conceded just 12 points. There were wins against Boston High School and University Academy Holbeach with the biggest win of 22-0 against Haven High Academy.
Mrs Cooper and Mr Reed said “It was a true team performance in every match and a huge congratulations to every student for playing so competitively. Well done to all of the players for representing our school so well”
Special mentions go to Florence Mackay who was the Players Player against Boston High School and University Academy Holbeach, and Darci Smith who was the Players Player against Haven High Academy.
If students are interested in playing basketball, we run Basketball Shooting Practice during Monday lunchtime with Mr Dodd and there is a Basketball Club after school on Wednesdays with Mr Reed. Both activities are for students in all year groups and take place in the Sports Hall.
