Students celebrate GCSE and vocational exam success

Students and staff at Giles Academy are celebrating yet another fantastic year of academic and vocational success with highly impressive results across the diverse curriculum of 18 different GCSE and BTEC subjects.
In addition to English and Mathematics, the top four subjects where students have achieved grades 7 or above are Food Technology, Health & Social Care, Religious Studies and Sport Science. Other subjects where there have been a notable increase in grades 9 to 5 are French and Performing Arts.
Mrs Lucy Conley, Chief Executive Officer said “Since joining South Lincolnshire Academies Trust in September 2020, Giles Academy students have continually improved. This set of results is a testament to the incredible hard work of our students and staff, and reflects the students’ hard work and commitment to their studies.”
The impressive GCSE and Vocational grades have been replicated across every school that are part of South Lincolnshire Academies Trust and reflects how well students are fully supported. The continued progress of the summer examination results at Giles Academy highlights the strength of the quality of education and the wide variety of initiatives that students have been eager to take advantage of.

Giles Academy have offered extra revision sessions during the Easter and May Half Term holidays, where students choose additional two-hour lessons on specific subjects. In term time, during lunchtimes and after-school, subject staff have provided homework and revision clubs as part of their enrichment programmes. The Trust has also invested in online learning resources that students have been able to utilise as part of their revision tools. This dedication to go above and beyond has ensured students can be rewarded for their hard work and dedication.
Mrs Lucy Conley added “As a Trust with non-selective schools, I am immensely proud of the achievements of every single student who have grown into amazing young people with bright futures. The results across all the schools that are part of South Lincolnshire Academies Trust demonstrates our commitment to school improvement, and we offer students in Lincolnshire the best opportunities possible and help them to aspire to be the best they can be. I wish all our students the very best in the next phase of their educational endeavours whether this be Sixth Form, College or an apprenticeship.”
