Helping the local community by donating Christmas Hampers

Helping the community by donating Christmas Hampers to local care home

One of the amazing festive activities we have at Giles Academy is to give something back to the local community by creating ‘Christmas Hampers’ for residents at The Minstrels Care Home in Wrangle.

Due to Covid, this wasn’t possible last year so we are all very much looking forward to providing some festive cheer. As some of the elderly people at The Minstrels Care Home may have no family or friends, this act of kindness will definitely be much appreciated at Christmas.

Each form will have the same sized box to dress in their very own Christmas theme, whether that is using wrapping paper or painting and decorating. Then students in each form are asked to donate an item to put in the hamper.

The Christmas hampers are scheduled to be delivered to The Minstrels Care Home in the last week of term so everyone should bring in their donations by Monday 13th December at the latest.

ABOUT THE MINSTRELS CARE HOME

The Minstrels is located in Wrangle and provides support for up to 33 older people living with dementia and other related illnesses, and residents who require permanent or respite care in a residential setting.
