Girls Netball Team reached final of Superzone Netball League

After the Year 9 Girls Netball Team won the Boston Schools Netball League last month by winning every match throughout the whole season, they had made the final of the South Lincolnshire Superzone Netball League against Bourne Grammar School.

They knew it was going to be a tough match, especially as they were missing some key players on the day. In the final, Bourne Grammar were quick off the score sheet and it became difficult to contain them and they were comfortable winners in the end. Congratulations to Bourne Grammar for winning the final.

Every Giles player played with confidence, determination, effort and a strong sense of competitive team spirit which got them to the final. Special mentions on the day also go to Ruby who was nominated as Players Player of the Match from Bourne Grammar and to Evie who was selected as Coaches Player of the Match.

Mrs Cooper, Teacher of PE said “It was a huge Giles Academy team effort and I want to praise the entire Year 9 team from throughout the season on their wonderful achievement on reaching this final. Well played to Abbie, Luciella, Tillie, Ruby, Willow, Martyna, Zuzanna, Evie and Isabella throughout the season. Thanks also go to Miss Heasley for her support with this team.”
