Girls U14 football team reach semi-finals of the County Cup

Our Girls U14 football team are having an amazing season so far with a fantastic run in the County Cup as they have reached the semi-finals of the competition.

They had drawn a difficult fixture in the quarter finals where they faced Skegness Grammar School. The conditions for the match were not ideal either as it was very windy, which meant that we had to focus playing the ball on the ground.

Everyone played their role brilliantly and stuck to the tactics as two goals from Florence Mackay and one goal from Emily Bond meant Giles Academy won 3-2 and are into the semi-finals.

The whole team demonstrated great teamwork and determination plus made the very best of the blustery conditions. The Players Player of the Match was Amelia Shaw and Coaches Player of the Match was Lillie Pinner.
