Staff bake cakes to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support

When it comes to raising money for charity and the opportunity to have a slice of cake, the staff at Giles Academy are always up for the challenge. Last month, the staff whisked, mixed, piped and baked (as well as ate) for charity by hosting a staff Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Across the Trust, Giles Academy along with Spalding Academy, Bourne Academy and Giles Academy raised over £950 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

There were plenty of showstopper cakes and bakes on display with something for everyone. This included homemade treats such as Lemon Cake, Coffee & Walnut Cake, Strawberry Sponge, Chocolate Cake, Scones with Jam & Cream and even a Pumpkin Cake (no doubt, made with one of Lincolnshire’s finest pumpkins!) plus a selection of traybakes, muffins and cupcakes.

A special thank you goes to everyone who baked or brought in a cake and all the staff who made generous donations to buy a slice (or two).

As you can see from the photos, not only are our staff great teachers, but they are great bakers as well.
