Poetry competition to create awareness of mental health
Giles Academy has launched a poetry competition open to students in all years based around the theme of ‘Mental Health Awareness’.
Poetry is a creative and therapeutic way to express emotions and for students to use their voice and give their perspective to help raise awareness and understanding of mental health issues. The competition is designed to improve creative writing and English language skills.
The closing date for entries is Monday 13th December 2021, which should be handed in to form tutors.
The winners will be announced in January where we will display the poems in the school and on our website. To reward our students, they will be presented with vouchers for placed and commendable entries.
