An evening of music and drama showcases student talents

Our music and drama students in Years 7 to 11 performed to family and friends in the drama studio at Giles Academy this week to showcase modern and classic songs by Whitney Houston, Lewis Capaldi, Miley Cyrus and from Les Misérables. The drama group also performed scenes from the hit musical, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
The audience for this event was kept more intimate to give our students the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and build their confidence with a view to putting on larger events in the future.
It is safe to say, that the quality of performances produced on the evening clearly indicate that this group of talented students are definitely ready for a much bigger stage. Every performer was faultless as they delivered confident, professional and polished performances.
The work that Ms Cocks (Music Lead), Mrs Amos-Linley (Drama Instructor) and Mrs Beeson (who provides one-to-one singing lessons) plus all the staff who support our fantastic music and drama departments can be seen in our student’s progress.
