PSHE sessions focus on the Turkey and Syria Earthquake

Following the tragic earthquake and subsequent events that have happened in Turkey and Syria, we have held PSHE sessions for all students during form time this week.
Students have been educated on the reasons why this specific earthquake, that happened while people were asleep has caused such widespread devastation.
There have been remarkable stories of recoveries and amazing acts of human kindness, but unfortunately there are families who are homeless, children who are orphans after losing their parents and the two countries need to rebuild after homes, schools and hospitals were destroyed.
In March 2023, Giles Academy will be holding a fundraising event where funds raised will go towards the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) for the Turkey/Syria Earthquake Appeal.
