Giles Academy Year 8 Girls Rounders District Winning Team
2025 has been a truly unbelievable season for the Girls Rounders Teams at Giles Academy. All of the year groups in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 have been victorious in competitions against local schools in various competitions!
It is not unusual for one year group to stand out and win, but for EVERY year group to dominate the field and win their competitions is a testament not only to the incredible determination, skills and teamwork of our students, but the brilliant coaching and tactics from Mrs Cooper and our PE department.

It doesn’t matter whether it is batting or fielding – there have been stand-out performances from everyone involved and the margin of the winning scores also reflect this.
What is always noticeable in every match is the team spirit and fair play from our students and that everyone plays with a smile on their face as they enjoy playing together.

We would like to thank the PE department at Giles Academy for their commitment to giving our students the best opportunities and to every student who has participated in sport, whether that is in a team, in a club, in extra-curricular sessions in lunchtime or after-school and in our timetabled PE lessons – everyone plays their part in the success.
