U13 Girls are District Cricket Champions and in the County Final

The hard work from our PE department into developing girls cricket at Giles Academy plus the skills and commitment from our students is paying off as our Under 13 Girls Cricket Team are crowned the District Cricket Champions 2024!

This is our debut season competing in the competition, so it is an amazing triumph for the students and staff to be bring the title back to Giles.

To win the tournament, the team travelled to Skegness Cricket Club and had to beat both Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School Horncastle and Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School Alford.

This is a great achievement, especially as we are a non-selective school competing against grammar schools. Over the last year, there has been a real buzz around girls cricket in all years at the school so winning the tournament is a testament to this.

The students are now through to the County Final on Tuesday 4th June 2024, which will take place in at Nettleham Cricket Club, near Lincoln. Good luck to all the team – we are really proud of everyone involved.
